Omantel to extend WiLL to 200 villages

Oman’s Ministry of Communications has revealed details of a plan to extend fixed telephony services to 200 remote settlements in the country by rolling out an extensive wireless in the local loop (WiLL) network. State-owned telco Omantel yesterday signed an agreement with China’s Huawei for provision of infrastructure for the scheme.
