13 Apr 2005

Haiti Telecommunications International (HaiTel) has signed a deal with technology provider Nortel Networks to deploy base stations, switching platforms and other core infrastructure to add further capacity to its CDMA2000 network and upgrade to a CDMA2000 1x platform. The network upgrade is expected to be completed by mid-2005, increasing capacity by up to three times and enabling HaiTel to roll out 3G services.
