Two ask CRTC to ban Bell VoIP service

8 Apr 2005

Cogeco Cable and Quebecor Media have requested that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) stop Bell Canada from offering VoIP services in three Quebec cities until rules governing the service are in place. The CRTC has also been asked to investigate whether Bell’s service is legal. The regulator is expected to issue the new rules governing VoIP by 12 May.
