NTC to discuss internet access and LLU

24 Mar 2005

Thai telecoms watchdog the National Telecom Commission (NTC) is to conduct a public consultation on internet policy, including the issue of fair pricing for accessing the web, and also plans to foreground the issue of local loop unbundling (LLU). It is understood that the NTC will ask for opinions on the three types of ISPs that will be eligible to apply for internet service business licences: ISPs owning and operating their own networks; ISPs with some infrastructure which lease capacity from other carriers; and those which have to lease networks from others in order to provide services.
