Aliant to invest additional CAD58 million in its wireless network

Aliant, Atlantic Canada’s largest telecoms company, has announced it will spend an additional CAD58 million in 2005 to expand its wireless services to several rural communities in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The expansion will raise digital wireless coverage to approximately 91% of the population of Atlantic Canada. Total investment in the wireless network in 2005 is expected to exceed CAD348 million.
