Opta wants cut in fixed-to-mobile fees

The Dutch telecoms regulator Opta is planning a cut in fixed-to-mobile tariffs as it says end-users currently pay too much to call a mobile number. The regulator is proposing a gradual reduction of 30%-40% in mobile termination rates by 2008. Telecompaper says this will save phone users around EUR150 million a year.
