TA Orange gets a million new numbers

4 Mar 2005

TOT Corp yesterday agreed to cede no fewer than one million new telephone numbers to TA Orange by the end of March, to ease the latter’s chronic number shortage. According to The Nation newspaper, a spokesman for the NTC confirmed the decision following a meeting with TOT officials. As reported on 2 March by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, TA Orange asked the regulator for 2.5 million new numbers to help it achieve its goal of signing up a million new users in 2005. It currently has around 3.5 million subscribers and is adding to this at a rate of 400,000 a month.
