Government approves NGN40 billion for new satellite

Nigeria’s Federal Government has approved a NGN40 billion (USD300 million) contract for the launch of the Nigeria Communication Satellite in 2006. The satellite it expected to generate around USD200 million a year over the next 15 years, and provide between 1.5 million and two million jobs in the country.
