ICE told to honour Ericsson contract

22 Dec 2004

According to BNAmericas, Costa Rica’s constitutional court has ordered fixed line incumbent ICE to honour a cancelled USD130 million contract with Ericsson for the supply of a 600,000 capacity GSM network. ICE cancelled the contract in September, after it was alleged that the tender was mismanaged. Ericsson successfully appealed against the decision and has had the contract reinstituted; it was also awarded costs.
