MTC looks to increase competition

6 Dec 2004

Peru’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has published two proposals for the modification of the country’s existing telecoms laws in order to promote competition in the sector. One change will affect the general telecommunications law, while the other will change the policy for the liberalisation of the market by allowing the telecoms regulator Ospitel to force operators in the least competitive areas to allow third parties to resell their services.
