Indian fixed line operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has signed a EUR200 (USD246 million) deal with equipment supplier Nokia for the expansion of its GSM and GPRS network in the north of the country. Under the terms of the deal, Nokia will deploy four million lines in the northern states of Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, including the supply and installation of core GSM and GPRS radio network equipment.
