Airport check-in via SMS

13 Sep 2004

Finnair is set to become the first airline in the world to provide an automatic mobile phone check-in service. Starting in October, customers who have activated the service will be able to send a text message to check-in and then use a confirmation text message from Finnair as a boarding card. On certain flights customers will be able to give their seating preferences. The service will be compatible with any GSM handset and will be available on all Finnair scheduled flights from Helsinki and Stockholm.
