Warid Telecom contracts Ericsson for GSM/GPRS

Pakistani newcomer Warid Telecom has signed a contract with Ericsson for the supply of GSM and GPRS equipment. The deal covers the first phase of Warid’s network rollout, which will cover 28 cities across Pakistan. The build out of the network is expected to start immediately, with commercial launch planned for early 2005. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
