Six companies show interest in Nitel stake

According to Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), six foreign companies have expressed an interest in bidding for the 51% stake in state-owned incumbent Nigeria Telecommunications Limited (Nitel). The interested parties have not been named, but are thought to include BT, a group headed by entrepreneur Richard Branson, a Singaporean telco and a consortium including Vodafone.
