O2 and Meteor have signed a national roaming agreement giving Meteor, the country’s smallest mobile operator, access to O2’s network in rural areas and regions were it does not have infrastructure. Meteor customers will now be able to make calls over its rival’s network in Kerry, Donegal, Mayo, Cavan, Sligo and Leitrim, as well as parts of Limerick, Galway, Cork, Clare, Roscommon and Longford. The agreement stems from a January 2004 ruling by regulator ComReg aiming to increase Meteor’s competitiveness in the sector.
