Finnish cellphone sales up 8%

Mobile phone sales in Finland are still on the up, with handset sales in July rising 8% year-on-year. 133,117 units were shifted in July according to the Finnish Association of Electronics Wholesalers (ETK). Handset sales for the first half of 2004 were 742,000, up 1% on the same period last year. The forecast for the whole of 2004 is 1.4 million units. Over half of all handsets sold in July were camera phones according to ETK’s figures.
