New telco plans USD150 million investment

One of Pakistan’s newest licensees, UAE-based Warid Telecom, has announced plans to invest USD150 million in the rollout of its network. Warid was awarded one of 19 long-distance international (LDI) licences by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) a few weeks ago, having bid USD291 million; it expects to commence services in October.
