Telefónica Móviles expands CDMA network

Telefónica Móviles Peru has expanded its CDMA2000 1X network outside of Lima to the provinces, using equipment provided by Nortel Networks. Telefónica Móviles launched the service in the capital last November and has now begun upgrading the network to 3G. It claims to have around 300,000 subscribers to the service.
