Mobile newcomer selects Nokia for GSM network

Telenor, a new GSM operator in Pakistan, has selected Nokia to build and operate a GSM network in the country, initially covering the Central and North Punjab regions. The new system is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2005. The turnkey solution includes GSM base stations and the facility to smoothly upgrade to a 3G network based on W-CDMA technology.
