Cesky Mobil files for EUR52 million compensation

7 Jun 2004

Cesky Mobil has launched a lawsuit against its rivals T-Mobil Czech Republic and Eurotel Praha demanding CZK1.6 billion (EUR52 million) in compensation for damages resulting from an illegal and discrimatory pricing policy applied by the two in 2000/01. In mid-2002 the Czech Anti-Monopoly Office ruled that T-Mobile and Eurotel abused their dominant position in the market by charging their customers considerably higher tariffs for calls to Cesky Mobil’s network than for calls between their own networks. Cesky is demanding CZK1.04 billion from Eurotel and CZK615 million from T-Mobile.
