Tele2 launches 3G package

2 Jun 2004

Tele2 AB has announced that it is launching 3G services today, with an introductory offer which includes free mobile internet and WAP for the rest of this year. 3G customers can choose between all of Tele2Comviq’s subscription packages, including its Comviq Kompis (Buddy) option, which allows users to call to over 3.4 million mobile phones for free.

According to Fredrik Berglund, CEO of Tele2 Sweden, the timing of his company’s launch is right for a number of reasons: its mobile handsets are of better quality; the network quality is good; handover between 3G and GSM works seamlessly, and Tele2 has seen an increasing demand for content services which require faster transmission.
