OPTA rapped in Versatel case

The Netherlands’ telecoms watchdog OPTA has lost a court case brought against it by Dutch telecoms service provider Versatel over tariff charges. In the appeal court hearing, the authorities decided to quash an earlier ruling which upheld OPTA’s decision to impose maximum prices on Versatel for its fixed line network services after the regulator determined that the operator’s tariffs were unreasonably high.
