26 Apr 2004

Finnish telecoms operator Saunalahti Group has announced plans to launch MVNO operations later this year. Saunalahti is one of 29 Finnish companies licensed as a mobile communications service provider. Its services are provided in conjunction with TeliaFinland, one of the country’s eight licensed mobile network operators. Saunalahti, which has said that it will spend EUR4 million in the short-term on switching equipment to facilitate its new offering, is hoping for 350,000 subscribers by the end of 2004, up from the current 240,000. Saunalahti’s turnover is expected to reach EUR140 million to EUR170 million this year, up from the EUR75 million recorded in 2003.
