Vodacom Mozambique growth exceeds all expectations

19 Apr 2004

Vodacom Mozambique, a subsidiary of South African mobile operator Vodacom, has signed up 60,000 subscribers since launching commercial GSM services in December 2003, exceeding its own targets by around 20%. The cellco’s initial rollout provided coverage of all major cities and provincial capitals, the main corridors to South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe, as well as many other smaller towns and some roads. It is now busy rolling out the second phase of its network.
