Four to become one

The Jamaican government is reportedly studying plans to amalgamate the four telecoms-related regulators – the Office of Utilities Regulation, the Spectrum Management Authority, the Broadcasting Commission and the Fair Trading Commission – into a single entity. The change is being made by Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology Minister Philip Paulwell, the official responsible for the country’s recently approved telecommunications policy.
