IFC lends USD50 million to MTN Networks

The World Bank’s private sector arm, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), has finalised a USD50 million loan package for Sri Lankan cellco MTN Networks which operates under the brand name Dialog. The investment is the IFC’s largest to date, and will go towards the USD140 million nationwide expansion and upgrade planned for the company’s GSM network.
