STET Hellas launches UMTS services

STET Hellas Telecommunications has announced the launch of its UMTS network, with commercial service scheduled to begin on 27 January. The UMTS network will initially only be available in the greater Athens and Thessaloniki areas, with Patra and Irakleion to follow in the near future. STET Hellas’ 3G tariff plan, TELESTET 3G 70, offers 70 minutes of bundled-voice airtime, 40 megabytes of WAP and web browsing and 15 MMS for EUR38 per month. Video calls will be charged at EUR0.005 per second for the first month of usage, while afterwards customers will be charged EUR0.01 per second.
