Cesky sell off planned for 2005

19 Dec 2003

IT Minister Vladimir Mlynar has confirmed that the government will sell its 51% stake in incumbent telco Cesky Telecom in 2005. The exact method of disposal will be decided in January, but investors including TDC have already registered an interest. The Czech government tried to sell its stake in 2002 but cancelled the sale when one of Cesky’s other shareholders – TelSource – rejected the price offered by Deutsche Bank/TDC.
