Former Telecoms Minister handed 20-year jail term

The Cameroon government has handed prison sentences ranging from twelve to 20 years to former members of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications after finding them guilty of embezzlement and other financial irregularities. Former Minister Mounchipou Seidou and eight former co-workers were found guilty after a four-year investigation by parliament into budgetary discrepancies. A further 14 people were acquitted over lack of evidence.
