Nokia lands Russian network deal

Finnish equipment maker Nokia has been awarded a EUR70 million contract to expand the network of Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom. Under the deal Nokia will supply a complete GSM system incorporating EDGE-enabled base stations to double Vimpelcom’s network capacity in central and northern Russia.
