Alcatel to expand TA Orange’s GPRS network

Leading Thai cellco TA Orange has signed a contract worth more than USD100 million with French equipment vendor Alcatel to extend the capacity of its GPRS network. TA Orange already boasts that its network has the biggest-capacity of its kind in the Asia-Pacific. The major part of the expansion is the turnkey supply of additional Evolium TM base stations, due for delivery before January 2004.
