Vodafone goes green

17 Jun 2003

The Green lobby is hoping that Vodafone, one of the world’s largest mobile operators, could be setting a trend by announcing its intentions to start using green electricity for all its antenna installations in the Netherlands. The environmentally friendly energy is generated from biomass and waterpower and does not add carbon dioxide (CO2) to the atmosphere. By switching its supply Vodafone will halve its CO2 emissions in accordance with its corporate social responsibility programme.
