Workshop promotes liberalisation

The US Embassy in Sarajevo recently organised a one-day workshop on the liberalisation of the telecommunications sector in Bosnia-Herzegovina, advocating the importance of privatisation of the market. Although the country is seen to be fairly forward-thinking, there have been issues raised surrounding the politics of privatisation. There are three fixed line and three mobile operators currently providing services, all of which are partly privatised but remain divided along ethnic lines and have unknown ownership structures.
