Hungarian mobile operator Pannon GSM claims to be the first mobile operator to have made an EDGE call over its network; the call was made using a Nokia 6220 handset. Pannon has signed an agreement with Nokia for the provision of a trial network in Budapest, which is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2003.
