Papua New Guinea goes digital

Papua New Guinea cellco <b>Pacific Mobile Communications (PMC)</b> is preparing to bring the country’s telecoms sector in line with its neighbours with the launch its PGK34 million digital GSM-900 mobile phone service next month, with SMS texting and post-paid billing services to follow later in the year. PMC currently has around 3,000 subscribers to its analogue service.
