KDDI sets aside USD270m for new telehouse data centres

26 Aug 2014

KDDI of Japan says it will invest USD270 million to construct new telehouse data centres in Tokyo and Osaka. The former is expected to come online in August 2015, with the Osaka data centre following suit in around February the following year. The telco says the expansion forms part of its growth strategy to cater for rising demand for data centre space in Japan’s metropolitan areas, and will provide private and public services to clients, whilst allowing direct access to the KDDI global network.
