Zoom Wireless launches Wi-Fi internet access in northern Uganda

The Ugandan internet service provider (ISP) Zoom Wireless has launched Wi-Fi internet services for business and residential customers in parts of northern Uganda, beginning with the city of Gulu. Zoom Wireless is offering fixed-wireless internet access for corporate customers with speeds from 1Mbps to 9Mbps, with small business/residential options of 512kbps, 1Mbps or 3Mbps at approximately 50% of the rates of its competitors and with no usage caps. The network of Wi-Fi access points runs via a fibre-optic backbone, with back-office services and software integration being supplied by Volo.
