Sistema likely to take 100% of Kosmos-TV following decree authorising sale

13 Aug 2014

A presidential decree effective 11 August 2014 authorised the sale of a 50% stake in satellite TV operator Kosmos-TV currently held by Russian Television & Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS), giving the government one month to organise the deal, Broadband TV News reports. A draft presidential decree was published for discussion last November which identified Kosmos-TV’s other 50% owner Sistema (parent of Mobile TeleSystems) as the target purchaser of the remaining equity in the pay-TV provider.
