Ukraine postpones MNP again

4 Aug 2014

Ukraine’s National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR or NKRZI) says that, after missing the 1 July deadline for launching mobile number portability (MNP), it has officially retracted its previous decision on implementation of the service (issued in April 2013 and passed into law in December). The NCCIR also announced its readiness to discuss a new draft for MNP implementation with market participants, and will accept comments and suggestions on the draft until 29 August 2014, reports ProIT. At least one operator, MTS Ukraine, has indicated its technical readiness to launch MNP.
