NT looks to set USD640m budget

Nepal Telecom (NT) is looking to set a budget of NPR62 billion (USD640 million) for its 2014/15 fiscal year which begins in mid-July, the Himalayan reports. The money will go towards the expansion of fibre networks and deployment of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology, improving voice call quality and finding a new strategic partner. The firm is also considering setting up subsidiary companies to deal with infrastructure sharing and software and application development. The budget will soon be submitted to NT’s board for approval.
