MTS Ukraine ‘exits Crimea’ to make way for parent

2 Jul 2014

Cellco MTS Ukraine closed all its sales and service points in Sevastopol in the breakaway region of Crimea on 30 June 2014, writes Bizliganet, reportedly to make way for its Russian parent Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) to take over operations. The report says that Russian MTS mobile SIM cards are already being sold in the city and surrounding peninsula, while MTS Ukraine previously hinted that it would cease selling its services in Crimea after the formerly autonomous region left Ukraine and joined Russia.
