NSN to provide Zain Kuwait with complete OSS solution

20 Jun 2014

Zain Kuwait, the country’s leading cellco in terms of subscribers, has commissioned equipment vendor Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) to transform its operations by delivering a complete operations support systems (OSS) solution, in order to become more customer-centric. According to a joint press release, the new platform will enable the operator to ‘simplify network operations by having a total network view with centralised operations’. Under the contract, NSN will implement its internet protocol (IP) fault management platform, EMC Smarts, the IP performance management platform, EMC Watch4Net, the IP configuration management platform and EMC Network Configuration Manager. Its fault management platform based on NetAct Advanced Monitor will enable centralised, end-to-end fault management in a multi-technology, multi-domain, multi-vendor environment. In addition, Nokia’s umbrella Performance Manager platform will provide a single point of access for holistic network performance insight.

Omar Al Omar, CEO at Zain Kuwait, said: ‘We value our customers and give top priority to ensuring that they get the highest quality across our network and services … To achieve this, we saw the need to evolve our daily operations from a network-centric approach to a customer-centric one by transforming our Network Operation Center (NOC) with the most advanced OSS solutions available.’
