TelOne expects USD5m revenues from new satellite broadband offering

Zimbabwe’s state-owned fixed line and internet provider TelOne says it expects its fledgling satellite broadband service to be contributing at least USD5 million to revenue annually within a year. The Ka Band Satellite offering was introduced last week under a partnership between TelOne and UK-based satellite operator Avanti Communications. It aims to provide high speed internet and Ka band data services for businesses in rural and semi-rural areas, as well as access for mobile carriers and defence systems, a report from News Day suggests.
