MIIT to approve third batch of MVNO licences

Chinese telecoms regulator the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is preparing to allocate a third batch of mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) licences, Marbridge Daily writes, citing MIIT head Miao Wei. Seven to eight new companies are being considered for the new licences, including 21Vianet, SeeCom Technology, Yinsheng E-Pay, China Postal and Telecommunications Appliances Corp (China PTAC) and Dr. Peng Telecom and Media Group. The MVNO concessions are expected to be handed out within the next two months.
