13 Jun 2014

KT Corp has reportedly showcased the world’s first cross-border roaming services based on the voice-over-Long Term Evolution (VoLTE), according to the Korea Herald. With the South Korean operator having partnered with China Mobile to develop VoLTE roaming services, KT chief executive officer Hwang Chang-gyu said of the achievement: ‘KT and China Mobile have solved technical barriers that hampered faster and more stable roaming services than the current ones.’ It is understood that the two companies expect to commercialise the technology in November 2014.
