Vivacom management denies claims the company is for sale

11 Jun 2014

Zlatozar Surlekov, chairman of the board of Bulgaria’s former monopoly telco Vivacom (previously Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, BTC), has denied media claims that Viva Telecom, the Luxembourg-registered holding company established by CCBank, VTB Capital and other shareholders, is looking to dispose of its stake in the Bulgarian operator within the next two months. According to domestic newspaper Capital, Surlekov was quoted as saying: ‘We officially refute the information that BTC is for sale.’

In an article published earlier this week, news source Club Z cited unnamed London investors as saying that a Vivacom prospectus had been distributed to would-be investors, as the current owners seek to restructure the company’s debts.
