KT Corp and Fon ink global Wi-Fi deal

28 May 2014

South Korea’s KT Corp and global Wi-Fi network provider Fon have announced a global roaming partnership deal which they claim will give customers of both companies ‘a free, broader and richer Wi-Fi experience as they travel the globe’. Under the terms of the deal Fon members will gain free access to KT’s entire Wi-Fi network, in return for which selected KT customers traveling abroad will be able to utilise the 13 million global Fon hotspots. The agreement reportedly covers smartphones and other Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Commenting on the development, KT’s vice president, Roaming & Alliance Department, Byeong-Moo Lee, said: ‘Our agreement with Fon further expands our international Wi-Fi footprint making it easier for our customers to stay connected to what matters most during their travels abroad.’
