VipNet Cote d’Ivoire plans TD-LTE launch this year

Cote d’Ivoire internet service provider (ISP) VipNet has announced plans to launch a 4G wireless broadband network based on Time Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology by the end of this year, Agence Ecofin reports. The operator currently provides ADSL fixed broadband access plus WiMAX-based wireless internet services. Last month, rival ISP YooMee launched its own TD-LTE offering in the capital Abidjan.
