As previously rumoured, AT&T Mobility will launch its first Voice-over-Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) markets on 23 May. The mobile giant has confirmed that it will introduce high-definition (HD) VoLTE in selected areas of Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin next week. At launch, the HD VoLTE service will be only enabled on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, but AT&T has suggested that more VoLTE-enabled devices are likely to follow in due course.
