ArmenTel makes a Beeline for Armavir and Kotayk provinces

14 May 2014

Yerevan-based mobile operator ArmenTel, trading as Beeline, has announced the expansion of its 3G network to the provinces of Armavir in western Armenia, and the central zone of Kotayk, following the build-out of new base transceiver stations (BTS) in the areas of Arzni, Arinj and Bambakashat. The company says the new BTS cover more than 10,000 residents in these communities. Besides upgrading its 3G network, ArmenTel says it has also improved the coverage of its GSM networks in the region.

The latest 3G expansion follows the October 2013 launch of 3G services in the villages of Mikhailovka and Privolnoye in the Lori region, covering 22 square kilometres, and the tripling of coverage in the resort of Dilizhan, and November 2013’s announcement that ArmenTel had expanded its third-generation coverage and upgraded GSM services in northern Armenia, launching services in Odzun, again in the Lori region.
